Fun night at Dawn's. Beautiful home and landscaping, and what a view of Bennett Mountain! Thanks for hosting, Dawn and your dinner was delicious!
Great "closed" eyes picture, you little rascals! Sorry I missed June Bunco, and thanks Tammy for hosting.
Tammy provided the yummy food, and everyone's favorite Gobbler Clobber, and Vicky provided the cold, hard cash for tonight's winners. Beautiful night with Bennett Mountain in the background.
Bonnie and Dorene make a great tag team, and hosted jointly at Bonnie's house in March. Thank you both for making it easy knowing where we should show up to play for 2 months in a row!
February Bunco was fun, co hosted by both Dorene and Bonnie. We missed Toni but our faithful Mary stepped in to sub. Thanks!
I think the cat must have gotten my score sheet, can't find it, but let's say everyone was a WINNER!
Always a wonderful time at Toni's for our January Bunco! Thanks for hosting our first Bunco in 2026!
Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas!
What a fun evening at the Desert Canyon Golf Course. We rolled dice for Bunco, and rolled dice for our gift exchange! The Dice Roll gift exchange was fun, and different for us this year.
Delilah and her staff prepared an outstanding baked potato bar along with cheese cake for us. Five Stars! Thank you to Toni for hosting December Bunco, the meal was outstanding and the prizes wonderful.
The calendar for 2026 was decided upon, and we are keeping the same hostesses for the same months as we did in 2025.
We are so fortunate to be together, playing and laughing, after 20 plus years with our same gang. Here's to many more months and years of friendship and laughter.
All 12 of us were in attendance tonight for Bunco at Lisa's! Wow! That only happens in a blue moon.
The checks and cash were flowing as we donated our kitty plus your donations to the St. Luke's Elmore Health Foundation to provide mammograms to the underserved in Elmore County. What a generous group we have, and continue to contribute to help others by playing Bunco, and raising money for breast cancer awareness, since 2004!
Thank you for your donations, and thank you Lisa, for hosting. Food and laughs were plentiful!
Small group, lots of good food and fun!
Everyone was a winner.....I left my score sheet behind at Fran's! Thank you, Fran, for hosting!
It is always such a treat to go to Dawn's and enjoy her hospitality and beautiful new home. This month, we got to meet precious lil' guy Jose Luis, as new mom Rachel and grandma Mary joined us. Jose Luis turned 2 months old today, and I'm guessing he's the youngest Bunco participant we've had!
Thank you, Dawn for hosting!
Kaftan Night! A night to celebrate all things kaftan or mumu's! The flowing dresses were beautiful! Thanks Tammy for hosting our June roll-offs, and shout-out to Mary and Sherry for subbing this month.
We are on hiatus for July, returning to play on August 20 at Dawn's house.
Have a great summer, friends!
What as beautiful spring evening to play Bunco with our Bunco gals. Thanks Lorretta for a delicious dinner and having the big rollers in your home this month.
Next month: Hosted by Tammy B on June 18, and let's start summer off by wearing your favorite Kaftans!
Spring has arrived! The view from Tammy's back yard of Bennett Mountain is spectacular and the perfect backdrop for our April group picture. Thanks Tammy for the ham and potato dinner (channeling Easter) - delicious and yummy as always. Thanks to Tom for taking our picture this month, and we got a laugh of him wearing his "hot dog" shirt!
Here's to green beer, Irish shenanigans and fun times at our March Bunco! Thanks to Bonnie for making Pierogies' for all of us and other delicious food. Always fun to see one another just as spring is breaking and winter is saying it's last good-bye!
A cold, winter Bunco night was lots of fun and laughs! Thanks Toni for a delicious dinner!
We mingled and jangled with our pretty bracelets that we exchanged this month. Toni, along with Caron, created a wonderful, warm dinner of chicken noodle soup, salad and desserts. It was a fun evening, and we play at the Pioneer Federal Credit Union meeting room. Great set-up!
We assigned 2025 play dates so mark your calendars! Missed Lorretta, Lisa and Toni who were all not feeling 100%. Thanks to Caron, Mary and Rachel for subbing.
Merry Christmas!
Winners:
Beautiful home, Krisann! We've waited with you for many years for the completion of your beautiful home, and it was sure worth the wait! Dinner and dessert were delish, and we all had some good laughs. We missed Lorretta and Tammy, and hope everyone attends our Christmas Bunco on Thursday, Dec 19.
December Bunco will be held at Pioneer Federal Credit Union meeting room, hosted by Toni, on Thursday, December 19 at 630p. Toni is asking everyone to bring a bracelet to exchange, and wear your holiday ugly sweater, or holiday pretty sweater......whatever works best for you!
November Winners:
Lisa hosted a great Bunco night! Lasagna, salad, sweet treats and FOUR subs! Wow, we haven't had four subs in quite a while. Thank you to Mary, Sandee, Melissa and Kim for playing with us.
Sandee reminded us that in October, 2023, we donated our kitty ($60) to the St. Luke's Elmore Health Foundation to help fund mammograms for those underserved/underinsured during breast cancer awareness month. Thank you for the reminder, Sandee, and thank you for your $20 contribution! After seeing Sandee's donation, others donated from the wallet and from their winnings for the night. We collected $65 in a matter of 5 minutes! If everyone is in agreement, we'd like to donate October's kitty of $60 to St. Luke's in the name of "Mountain Home Bunco" and we will also take your personal donations as well to present to St. Luke's like we did last year. So, please bring your cash or checkbook on October 16 to Dawn's to help those needing mammograms, if you wish.
Holy moly! We hadn't played together since April, and it was much too long of a break from seeing our old friends. I think the retired gals are just as busy, if not busier, than the working gals. Thanks Fran as always for preparing a delicious dinner for us!
We had a schedule change for August, and Tammy and Fran co-hosted this month. We missed Dorene and Dawn, and hope to see them in September.
September and October changes:
Such a beautiful spring evening rolling dice at Lorretta's home. Yummy taco casserole, and key lime Weight Watchers light and fluffy dessert. Thanks to our subs this month, Abby and Mary. Lisa is traveling and Toni is recuperating from surgery and were missed.
UPDATE LOCATION! Tammy and Tammy switched hosting months. Tammy Brandenburg will host Bunco on May 15, and Tammy Hart will host on June 19. Update your calendars please.
SUMMER SOLSTICE PARTY! KAFTAN PARTY!
(The muumuu or mu'umu'u is a loose dress of Hawaiian origin - AKA as a Kaftan).
Please join me on my patio for a Summer Solstice Party on Friday, June 21 starting at 5:30 pm. The first day of summer is my favorite day of the year....longest day of the year, and daylight for hours and hours! Appetizers will be provided, and bring your own fav beverage. We will have a special musical guest in the house, our very own Blake Olmstead! Look for a private Facebook invitation coming soon!
WinnersI pulled together and hosted Bunco with less than 48 hours notice! Lorretta had come down with a nasty cold, and took a much needed rest and pass on hosting in March. I called Smoky Mountain Pizza in Mountain Home and asked if we could use their party room, thankfully it was available and we slid right in, loud and proud taking over and rolling dice!
Lorretta will host on April 17 at her home.
Valentine's Bunco at Bonnie's this month, co-hosted by Dorene and Bonnie.
Fun night, lots of chattering, and Lorretta had oodles of points.....we had several roll-offs, with many ties, more than I can remember in ages! Thanks Bonnie and Dorene for hosting. And thanks to Patty and Sandy for subbing.
March 20 Bunco hostess is Lorretta. See you then!
The snow has melted, the parking has improved, and Toni welcomed us for our January Bunco! Mississippi Pot Roast (click on the link for the recipe), hashbrown casserole, slaw, cookies and cheesecake made us all very happy on this wintery night.
Thanks Toni for hosting the gang!
The entire group was together for our December Christmas Bunco, first time in 2023 we all were together! What fun we had!
Toni made an amazing dinner for us of pulled pork, beans, slaw, apple pucker jello shots, and ice cream/brownie/caramel sundaes! We exchanged $10 gift cards around the tables for a new twist this year. Toni spoiled the winners with prizes, and the losers with socks. No snow, no fog, and it was so fabulous to be together!
Our 2024 calendar and hostesses are set. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Jan 17 at Toni's.
Can we spin on a dime and regroup when we need to? Yes we can! Krisann was scheduled to host this month, but due to family concerns, she had to take an excused absence. I reached out to Bonnie and Dorene who gladly said they would host .... Bonnie opened her home for us, and Dorene was head chef. It worked out wonderfully.
It was a fun night, lots of laugher, talking and friends taking care of friends.
For our December 13th Bunco at Toni's, we are asking that each player bring a $10 gift card to exchange. We will place our gift card at our table place, and the winners of each round will pick a gift card that they will take to the next table. Continue until the game ends. Same concept as we've done in the past with earrings and ornaments, but this year with $10 gift cards. Cha-Ching!
Thanks to Patty and Sandie for subbing this month. We missed Dawn, Krisann, Rose and Toni.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's important to get your mammograms and if you don't have the funds for a mammogram, you can ask for patient assistance through the St. Luke's Health Foundation.
This month, our small group of Bunco players decided to donate our "kitty" and also make individual donations to the St. Luke's Elmore Foundation for breast cancer screenings. A little money here and there goes a long way. Thanks to our long time players for stepping up with cash and checks to help others needing screenings. Also, thanks to the staff at St. Luke's for contributing merch for the swag bags!
Our Mountain Home group of friends started the original Bunco for Breast Cancer in 2004, 19 years ago, and hosted it yearly for seven years. In those seven years, we raised approximately $37,000 which was donated to the St. Luke's Health Foundation. We saw first hand how our dollars were used. One player in 2005 had never had a mammogram, no funds for a mammogram, and when she learned she could apply, she did so through her local physician. The next year, she didn't show up to play Bunco with us. We were told she did in fact have a mammogram and was found to have breast cancer. She spent the next year in treatment. The following year, she returned to our BFBC event, carrying a pink ribbon blanket she had made for our raffle, sporting her short hair from the effects of chemo. She was smiling, happy to be with us, and thankful for our fund raising efforts which allowed her to receive a mammogram, which probably saved her life.
Small town, grass roots, big donations, small donations, all add up to taking care of one another. Cindy Terriberry, St. Luke's Elmore Foundation Board member (and my old Mountain Home neighbor), was on hand for the photo op!
October Winners
September was a night of firsts!
First time playing Bunco at Dawn's beautiful new home!
First time I got a flat tire doing 80 MPH on the interstate from Boise to Mountain Home. I think I hit a tool, an instrument, a monkey wrench, who knows, but whatever it was punctured a big hole in my right rear tire.
First time I was towed to Costco for two new tires. Shout-out to Toni for reminding me to call Rob at Shorty's Towing who towed us to Costco in Boise where I bought the tires. Rob was our hero - AKA - Highway Hooker!
First time Rose and I dined at Costco together waiting for the tires to be replaced. Oh, how we missed Dawn's spaghetti bake!
Rose and I escaped serious injury....no wreck thank goodness, but we missed a night of fun with the girls.
Lisa is hosting on October 18, and asks that we wear our favorite Halloween costumes!
We're back! After a brief summer hiatus, we're back and in full rolling mode!
Fun night, great food (thanks Fran, and I'm posting a picture of your cucumber recipe), and a big decision was made as a group.
The 50/50 prize will be retired, eliminated, and has gone bye-bye. We don't need another person's stuff after cleaning out the pantry, junk drawer and over flowing closets. Lorretta was the very lucky recipient of our last 50/50 prize and what a summer basket of goodies! Produce from Fran's garden was great!
The sunset was spectacular as Rose and I were headed out of town. Sunsets always bring a peaceful moment.
Dawn will be our host on September 20.
